Trained at Last!

Most dogs can be a handful. Thats an understatement for six month old Pitbull mix Magz. Magz's new mother, who rescued the pup from a neglecting owner, was almost at her wits end with the new addition to her family. The pit mix was destructive, woefully disobedient and more than slightly aggressive towards people and her new sister Guiness. Guiness, an elderly Labrador mix, showed that she was willing to put up with the rambunctious puppy. But even she had her limits. When Magz's new owner saw her snapping on Guiness and witnessed a bite that was the last straw! She called us at the Tame Wolf Kennel Club to evaluate the situation and teach her some obedience or she would be forced to rehome her to ensure Guiness's safety. We came in ready and so was Magz. She jumped up repeatedly before we could even get through the door, nipping at our heels and tugging on our shirt sleeves. We ended the free evaluation with a guaranteed game plan to control her aggression and teach her commands to correct her unwanted behaviors.

Our first lesson was rocky but after the third class she knew her sit and stay commands. By the fifth she could come on command, and by the seventh class her walks were flawless. She completed eight classes over a four week period and within the month her improvements were monumental. She had overcome her lack of self control to the point where she could sit in front of the door and patiently wait for guests to greet her instead of rushing and jumping on them. Her leave-it command was so well that her mother could use it to stop her destructive behavior, and her Drop-it command was fluent so that her mother could get her to drop items from her mouth regardless of her connection to them.

Magz is a perfect example of the amazing transformation dogs go through with consistent training and patience.
